Dear Advisors,
We are very excited to welcome you to COMMUN VI! Commonwealth Model United Nations (COMMUN) is a Model United Nations conference for middle school students hosted by the Commonwealth School, a coed, independent high school in Boston's Back Bay, in partnership with the United Nations Association of Greater Boston. We are a teaching conference and work to help all levels of delegates succeed. We pride ourselves on providing unique committees and crises to offer delegates an engaging, educational, and fun conference experience.
We are looking forward to working with you and your students this spring. We are all facing unique challenges this year, but we are confident that despite these, COMMUN VI will remain a successful event. Since the COVID-19 crisis is so unpredictable, we have not yet made a decision about whether we will hold the conference virtually or in person; we plan to wait until late winter or early spring to release our choice. This allows us to hold the conference in accordance with the most up-to-date information and safety guidelines regarding the pandemic. Even if we do not get to see each other in person this April, we have a robust online structure already in place from our virtual conference last spring that we will continue to improve as the year progresses. COMMUN V was a great success online despite the sudden onset of the virus, with 5 committees and 60 delegates. We are excited for a fantastic conference regardless of our platform!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to logistics.commun@commschool.org. We look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Daria Plotz ‘22 and Ayla Denenberg ‘23
